Parent-Child Communication: Effects on Child Development

The idea that parent-child communication greatly influences the development of children at a young age is intuitive for most people. Many communication scholars acknowledge that there is a correlation between some parent-child communication and child development, but few studies have been completed to specifically explore this relationship. This study intends to help fill the gap of knowledge that exists in the area of parent-child communication and its effect on child development of children aged two to five years. This study attempts to systematically delineate the concepts of child development and parent-child communication.
