Synthesis of Potassium Glycolacetal Sulfate

Caleb H. DeWitt* and Connor Neils
Dr. Tim Humphry, Faculty Mentor

Organosulfate esters are very prevalent aerosolized pollutants that have been detected in the atmosphere. Though these are very prevalent pollutants, there is very little known about their properties. Potassium Glycolaldehyde Sulfate is synthesized to further study its chemical properties and confirm its presence in the atmosphere.
