The Gender Wage Gap

Erlind Hoxha
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

Gender inequality is a continuing challenge in the United States of America. These inequalities include gender pay gap, education, and social norms. Despite efforts to propel these concerns to the forefront of social conversations in America, significant progress is still to be witnessed. The gender wage gap is defined as the relative difference in earnings between men and women in the economy as a whole. The gender pay gap has always been an issue concerning the work force. For every dollar a man makes, his female counterpart makes roughly seventy-seven cents. The issue of wage gap in America does not solely impact women. Minorities are faced with the brunt truth that there are systems erected to suppress those who are not white male middle class.
