Cultivating an Environmentally-Conscious Campus through the Office of Sustainability

Truman State University’s Office of Sustainability is a student-initiated and student-run office that coordinates and promotes environmental efforts at Truman and in the surrounding community. This interdisciplinary research identifies effective measures of cultivating an environmentally-conscious atmosphere at Truman through communicating about sustainability, peer-to-peer education, and hands-on learning experiences for students involved in running the office. Methods and thoeries from disciplines of Communication, Education, Environmental Studies, and Economics are used in this research.
