Fear of a Name: Descriptors of African Societies

This presentation will explore a few of the different terms used in today's society, and in the past, to describe individuals of African descent. It will focus on comparing and contrasting African-American and West African cultures. The focus will be exploring key terms and their respective etymologies. The presentation will describe what the terms meant in the past and how (or if) their meaning has changed in modern times.
