Kate's Submission in The Taming of the Shrew
Katarina L. Rericha
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

The Taming of the Shrew shows Kate's submission to Petruccio, but there is a line between being a good wife and being abused that is crossed. This paper will examine Kate's shrew qualities that in modern times would be accepted but in the Renaissance culture would be considered a flaw, her relationship with Petruccio, and how the misogynistic values effect Kate.
