Obesity and Income: A Multiple Linear Regression Analysis the relationship of Obesity and One's income
Christopher Floyd
Dr. Terry Olson, Faculty Mentor

The research paper will cover the question of whether there is a relationship between one being obese, normal weight, or underweight and the persons income. This paper will first look at Americans to see if there is a link between their status and their income and then look at some of the factors that causes Americans to have a particular income if they are obese, normal, or underweight. Data on body mass index averages of each state in the United States provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation of Health Research will be used to determine the percentage of obese adults compared to other residents. With this data, we will also use linear regression to see if the factors are relevant in determining if the factors are causing one to have a particular income given that they are considered obese, normal or underweight.
