Brittany A. Jaecques*, Erin Smith, Lauren A. Baker, Clare Fielding, and Myra Milam
Dr. Karen Vittengl, Faculty Mentor

We will be looking for any differences between the experiences and abilities of students that transferred to Truman in comparison to native Truman students. Using archival data collected from senior tests, surveys and the portfolio project between the years 2006 and 2011, we are seeking any significant differences between transfer and native students, specifically with regard to GPA, measures such as critical thinking and problem solving as indicated by portfolio prompts, and knowledge within the students chosen area of study as indicated by senior test scores. We found that there were some significant differences in the performance of transfer students when compared to the performance of native students, but those differences were mitigated by ACT score.
