A Political Analyzation of The Shadow Lines
Earl Jackson
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

Amitav Ghoshs novel, Shadow Lines is an epitome of how complications can be made simple and interesting. Very serious themes of politics have affected humanity since the beginning of humankind. For ages, caste and creed has been influencing politics in India, whether it be through: sub-continental riots, communal conflict, partition of nation and states on the basis of religion, language rupturing humanity, incising brother hood or corrupting the consciousness and conscience. This results in people being left in a state of utter confusion regarding their roots and identity. This paper will seek to pinpoint how politics mingle and amalgamate with the human lives and affect them for the good and the bad.
