Struggle for a National Identity: The Story of South Africa
Amelia Bursi
Dr. Elaine McDuff, Faculty Mentor

Ravaged by war, inequality, and hate for centuries, South Africa is finally at the threshold of peace, equality, and love. Eighteen years after the abolishment of apartheid, this beautiful country finds itself at a standstill: who are they? Who do they want to become? At last given the opportunity to decide for themselves, South Africans are faced with this question of national identity. This research presentation does not promise an answer to this question, but will present a series of issues South Africa faces as it attempts to forge a response.
