Determining the Possible Effects of Implementing an Educational Audiologist in Northeast Missouri
Hollie M. Helton
Dr. Janet Gooch, Faculty Mentor

The goal of this survey study was to gather information about current hearing screening programs in Northeast Missouri and to measure the potential and perceived need for an educational audiologist in the area. Information was collected from the individual responsible for hearing screenings at 33 Northeast Missouri school districts regarding hearing screening protocols, the frequency at which screenings are performed, and the prevalence of students with hearing amplification. Results suggest that the services of an educational audiologist would prove beneficial to the Northeast Missouri area.
