The Treatment of Space in Cather's The Professor’s House
Aleksandra B. Juszczyk
Dr. Alanna Preussner, Faculty Mentor

I am going to discuss the different dimensions of and approaches to space in Cather’s The Professor’s House. As the importance of place is present in most of Cather’s works, so is it in The Professor’s House as well. I will focus on the Professor’s study, its view and the Blue Mesa. I will analyze these two spaces in their psychoanalytic, metaphysical and aesthetic context.
