Measuring the Influence of Foreign Aid on the Democratization of Post-Soviet Nations
Courtney P. Robbins
Dr. John Quinn, Faculty Mentor
In an increasingly global society, different countries' economic policies continue to impact the democratization in developing states. This is especially evident when comparing post-Soviet states. By comparing financial aid statistics from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the U.S. Agency for International Development to a discrete measurement of democratization and political freedoms, it is possible to perhaps measure the level of influence foreign aid has on a developing democracy, with outlying variables taken into account.
