Photographing Patterns on Human Form
Kelsey V. Wiskirchen
Prof. Priya S. Kambli, Faculty Mentor
For my undergraduate research in photography, I will be focusing on the human form. The body is a stimulating structure, with complex details, angles and curves. When you isolate one element of the body, such as an elbow or a foot, it is interesting to find the patterns that can be made by repetition or strategic placement. When photographing, I will explore the idea of using the body not only as subject matter, but also as a canvas. I am interested in seeing through photography how my mark making on the body can accentuate and interact with the patterns made by human forms.
