The Power of Love in Romeo and Juliet

The play, Romeo and Juliet, dramatizes the romantic, young love and passion between Romeo and Juliet and illuminates why "For never was a story of more woe / than this of Juliet and her Romeo." Highlighting how the play intensifies the tragic deaths of the star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, deaths that ultimately bring about political reconciliation between the Capulet and Montague families and peace to Verona, this essay will examine the ways in which the play illuminates the relationship between divine and human love and immortalizes the concept of love.
