Surveys of Communication Disorders Undergraduate Experiences Beneficial to Post-Undergraduate Careers

The purpose of this study is to combine two surveys given to undergraduate Communication Disorders seniors at Truman, and Communication Disorders alumni who have attended Truman to gain a better understanding of what activities and opportunities during their undergraduate careers proved the most beneficial to their post-undergraduate plans. The survey presented to undergraduate CMDS seniors will be distributed by paper during CMDS 480 and CMDS 489. The survey presented to the CMDS alumni will be distributed by mail to maintain anonymity. We have acquired a list of alumni from the CMDS department. By analyzing, comparing, and contrasting the results we collect from the surveys, we hope to find the Truman CMDS undergraduate experience with the activities and opportunities currently provided, has had or will have a positive effect on seniors post-undergraduate careers and encourage civic engagement and reflective learning in the alumni's current career setting.
