"Doing Time in the Homo No Mo Halfway House": An Interpretive Case Study of Classical Interest Group Theory in the (Ex-)Ex-Gay Community
Laura S. Casey
Dr. John Ishiyama, Faculty Mentor
The modern age of politics has a significantly different focus than that of our predecessors. Indeed, the postmodern era has influenced a new national agenda focusing on cultural values, many of which find their basis in identity, more than traditional security and economic interests. This research studies individuals previously involved in one such identity-based group, the ex-gay ministries, and the incentives offered by this group to potential members as compared with traditional interest group theory on incentive systems and related behavior.
