This project will evaluate the effectiveness of parent-training sessions designed to teach strategies that encourage the development of early literacy skills during shared storybook interactions with preschool children. The training sessions were developed by the student researcher and supervisor and include a video component. They will target book management, print-referencing, and evocative techniques. This study will examine the amount and type of print-referencing utilized by parents both pre and post- test. It will also assess the early literacy skills of the preschool children both pre and post-test.
