Movements from the Gottesdienst
Kevin P. Becker♦
Dr. Warren Gooch, Faculty Mentor
Following the Reformation (begun in 1517), the reformer Martin Luther translated and revised the Catholic Mass for the German people, which is called a Gottesdienst (literally, God's service). The presenter has set several of these texts to music. The presentation will include an analytical overview of the compositional process employed and will include a performance of selected portions of this original musical work.
