A field of study that has been recently contributing a growing variety of contributions to today's society is anthropology, the study of humanity. A questionnaire distributed to a representative sample of Truman State University students shows how much students at Truman know about the field of anthropology. To follow up, the findings of the questionnaire will be discussed and an introduction to anthropology's modern contribution to society will be outlined. Topics that will be covered include the following divisions of cultural anthropology: cognitive, legal, economical, political, religious, urban, ecological, ethnobotanical, comparative functionalist, and industrial. It will also consist of biological and linguist anthropology's donations to society as well as archaeology's uses in the modern world.
