In an age where the amount of available information overwhelms people and time is so valuable, podcasts provide a convenient alternative for accessing professional information, not just music and news. The purpose of this project was to evaluate and review software intended for use in classrooms and speech-language-hearing clinics. The additional purpose was to disseminate the results of these reviews by creating podcast versions and posting them on the Internet. Student researchers took turns in the roles of technical directors, script writers, commentators, audio editors, and software evaluators. Each software product was actually used on a trial basis with clients from the target population. The resulting podcasts were posted at http://cccslp.truman.edu along with show notes and credits. This site indexes other podcasts of interest to professionals in special education and healthcare. It is hoped that the reviews will spark interest in new software among busy teachers and clinicians.
