Antidepressants: Sertraline and the Scheme
Julianna R. Gamel
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

As of recently, the rise of disabling mental disorders appears to have spiked. Countless people find themselves diagnosed, or know someone who is diagnosed, with one of these disorders such as depression, obsessive compulsion disorder (OCD), attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These disorders take a toll on a person's life, disabling them to accomplish a task in a normal fashion. This paper will focus on Sertraline, a medication taken by many patients in the western culture with depression and anxiety, and if this drug's existence is necessary to the function of every day tasks.
