This research project focused on the use of electronic books vs. printed books and how the medium affected comprehension. Specifically, elementary students were asked to read two separate books, one on the iPad and the other in traditional print format. Questions to assess their reading comprehension were asked. The number of questions answered correctly for the electronic book vs. the printed book was compared. In addition, students provided an oral retell of the story and retells were analyzed.
