Environmental Policy Evaluation of Truman State University

While there are many environmentally responsible programs at Truman State University, such as the recycling program, the campus is still in need of environmental improvement. Some creativity and ingenuity may be all it takes to transform the campus into a self-contained green community. A policy evaluation/feasibility study done to uncover potential environmental improvements and assess their achievability could bring the University closer to a more efficient ideal. For example, the Truman State University dining halls produce approximately 150 gallons of recyclable grease a month. It may be possible to recycle and even use this waste product right here on Truman’s campus. In the long run such environmental progress may even prove to be more cost efficient than current practices. This project attempts to identify potential environmental improvements and access their feasibility.
