Comparative View of Biomass as Alternative Energy

Energy from biomass is a renewable energy that is more secure, environmentally safe and economically promising when compared to current energy sources. Energy from biomass may be the future of energy in the U.S. This study will compare the advantages and disadvantages of biomass to traditional power sources like oil, coal, and natural gas. Specific areas of investigation will compare these sources in terms of their cost, feasibility, and their comparative impact on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide emissions and other forms of pollution. Much of the biomass available for use comes from sewage and livestock. If the U.S. is able to use this source of biomass for energy, then carbon dioxide emissions can drop by twenty percent. Increasing the amount of biomass used for energy would create a huge industry of engineers, foresters and farmers.
